About Hannah

Hannah Goeke is an award-winning multimedia journalist, in her final semester at Emerson College in Boston, where she studies journalism and political science. For someone who’s only willing to run when she plays soccer, Hannah has “accidentally” covered one too many stories about marathoners. She believes that good journalism starts from a place of genuine curiosity. Originally from Germany, Hannah is particularly interested in how policy and economic decisions affect communities.

In 2026, Hannah spent eight months on The Boston Globe's Express Desk, where she reported breaking news and enterprise stories across New England. At the Globe, Hannah wrote over 300 articles ranging from front-page coverage of the Cambridge memorial shooting to NASA’s Artemis II mission, murder trials, town budget cuts, business closures, the Boston Marathon and the FIFA World Cup.​​

 

During her internship at the Christian Science Monitor, Hannah explored the impact of national and city politics on Boston's neighborhoods.​ The Monitor gave Hannah a platform to write her EVVY award-winning feature article on how funding cuts are affecting blind Americans access to Braille libraries.

When she’s not reporting, Hannah enjoys exploring restaurants around Boston, attempting to recreate their dishes (with mixed results), and spending time in museums and creating art.
